You know, I saw a great show on the Face of Jesus on PBS or History or Discovery... anyway, it shows how many similarities there was on all of the earliest Christian images of Christ... including a section of hair on his forehead, the shape of the nose, blood on the face, the placement of the eyes, the chin, etc. And they seemed to all be traced back to the Shroud of Turin, which matches all of those things with the other early images.
I went on the web and took a picture of the Shroud face and overlaid on top of it the picture of Edessa... amazing. They eyebrows, eyes, nose length, shape, mouth, all match.
